Aero Microbiology › Heavy Metal Bioaccumulation in Airborne Fungi
Fungal Bioaccumulation as a Proxy Indicator System for Urban Atmospheric Metal Contamination
This research develops and validates airborne fungal spores as cost-effective bioaccumulation indicators for spatial-temporal mapping of atmospheric heavy metal pollution across urban environments. The study establishes calibrated fungal bioaccumulation databases and demonstrates advantages over conventional particulate monitoring in identifying pollution hotspots and sources.
