Genomic Selection and Selective Breeding in Farmed Fish Populations
This study examines the application of whole-genome sequencing and marker-assisted selection to accelerate genetic gains for disease resistance, feed conversion efficiency, and growth rates in commercially important aquaculture species. The research generates novel understanding of polygenic trait inheritance and inbreeding depression management in closed-cycle breeding programs.
