Disease Surveillance and Pathogen Detection in Wildlife

Interns will develop and optimize molecular diagnostic techniques for detecting infectious diseases in wild animal populations using PCR, qPCR, and next-generation sequencing. They will participate in sample collection protocols, pathogen identification, and creating surveillance databases to monitor disease emergence in conservation-critical species.
