Biofilm Development and Enzyme Activity in Wetland Substrates
Interns will examine biofilm formation on different substrate materials (gravel, sand, woodchips) used in wetland treatment systems and characterize enzymatic activities driving pollutant transformation. They will use microscopy, biofilm quantification, and enzyme assays to optimize substrate design for enhanced treatment performance.
