What is a Molecular & Genetic Internship?

This internship gives you confident, repeatable hands at the bench for molecular biology workflows. From extracting nucleic acids out of a sample to running a clean gel and interpreting a sequencing chromatogram, you build the entire pipeline that underpins modern genetic research.

What you will do

• Extract genomic DNA, plasmid DNA, and total RNA from biological samples
• Design primers, set up PCR / qPCR reactions, and troubleshoot failed runs
• Run agarose and SDS-PAGE gels, document them, and interpret bands
• Perform basic cloning workflows — restriction digest, ligation, transformation
• Submit samples for Sanger sequencing and analyse the chromatograms
