Archaeal Cell Wall Diversity and S-Layer Protein Architecture
This research area explores the unique cell wall structures of archaea, including S-layer proteins and their crystalline arrangements, as well as pseudopeptidoglycan composition. Interns will use X-ray crystallography, cryo-electron microscopy, and protein purification techniques to characterize these distinctive structures and their functional roles in extreme environments.
