Allelic Exclusion and Isotypic Exclusion Mechanisms
Interns will investigate the regulatory mechanisms that ensure only one productive immunoglobulin heavy chain and one light chain are expressed per B cell, maintaining clonal specificity. This research area involves studying signal transduction pathways, feedback inhibition, and epigenetic modifications that prevent simultaneous expression of multiple immunoglobulin alleles and isotypes.
