Solvent Selection and Optimization for Alkaloid Extraction
Interns will investigate the efficacy of various solvents (aqueous, organic, and supercritical) in extracting alkaloids from medicinal plants. They will perform comparative studies using chromatographic analysis to determine optimal solvent combinations, polarity ranges, and extraction parameters that maximize alkaloid yield while minimizing co-extraction of unwanted compounds.
