Biocompatibility and Host-Microbe Interactions in Scaffold Systems

Interns will conduct in vitro studies using intestinal epithelial cell lines to evaluate the biocompatibility of nanofiber-probiotic constructs and measure inflammatory responses, barrier function, and immune signaling. This includes quantifying cytokine production and tight junction protein expression to assess probiotic efficacy.
