Physical Mutagenesis and Radiation Dose Response Studies

Interns will conduct experiments on gamma radiation and X-ray mutagenesis to determine optimal dose rates for inducing heritable mutations while minimizing lethality. They will analyze dose-response relationships, document chromosomal aberrations, and characterize the spectrum of mutations induced in M1 and M2 generations.
