Phenotypic and Genotypic Characterization of Antibiotic-Resistant Aquatic Bacteria
Interns will isolate antibiotic-resistant bacterial strains from freshwater and marine environments, perform antimicrobial susceptibility testing using standardized protocols, and conduct molecular identification through 16S rRNA sequencing and PCR-based detection of resistance genes. This work will establish baseline data on the prevalence and diversity of resistance mechanisms in natural aquatic ecosystems.
