Biofilm Formation and Microbial Interactions in Reservoir Conditions
Interns will conduct laboratory experiments simulating subsurface conditions (temperature, pressure, anaerobic environment) to study biofilm development on pipe materials and investigate microbial interactions such as syntrophy and competition. They will assess the role of biofilms in souring, corrosion, and production decline while evaluating potential antimicrobial treatment strategies.
