Metagenomic Analysis and Functional Gene Identification

Interns will process whole-genome sequencing data from produced water samples to identify metabolic pathways and functional genes related to hydrocarbon degradation and sulfate reduction. They will use annotation databases and comparative genomics to determine the metabolic potential of microbial communities and predict their role in reservoir souring and biofouling.
