Xenozoonotic Disease Risk Characterization
Interns will investigate the potential for cross-species pathogen transmission and viral reactivation in xenotransplantation scenarios through molecular screening and serological analysis. They will review literature on porcine endogenous retroviruses and other zoonotic pathogens relevant to clinical xenotransplantation.
